Almila Yıldırım

Graduated from H.U. Faculty of Science, Statistics in 2004, Graphic Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, H.U., in 2009. While continuing his master's studies, she started to work as a research assistant in the Graphic Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mugla Sitki Kocman University. She is currently studying on his Ph.D. at the University of Barcelona “Advanced Studies in Artistic Production.

She participated at varies workshops and classes such as Keith and Amanda Adams, Oriol Miró, Rodolfo Fernández Álvarez with traditional Western Calligraphy (Roman Capitals, Rustic, Celtic Decorations with Uncial and Insular script, Carolingian, Gothic and Lombardic letters and decorations, Chancery hand, Neuland); experimental calligraphy and lettering, sign-painting with Jakob Engberg and Adrián Pérez; letter carving on stone with Stephen Watts, and traditional and modern bookbinding in Begoña Cabero's studio.

In recent years, she practices Western Calligraphy with the inquiry of the intersects with asemic writing and calligraphy practices, which mainly focused on strokes with the influence of Far Eastern Calligraphy practices.
