Andrea Wunderlich

Since 2003, Andrea Wunderlich from Germany, has worked as a freelance calligrapher & book artist. Her work is exhibited both nationally and internationally and has featured in Letter Arts Review, New York. Her calligraphy formsas part of private and public collections like the Berlin Calligraphy Collection, and the Centre for the Book Arts, San Francisco.

In her studio, which is located in an old fire station, she works on a wide range of commissions in  sign-painting, lettering, logo-design and murals. She teaches in Europe  and worldwide. In 2019, Andrea was a lecturer and tutor at the International Calligraphy Conference in Montréal.

In her own 'free' artwork she loves to follow the historic paths of alphabets and illumination, but also enjoys expressive transformation. She is interested in the craft of lettering, but then also in breaking those boundaries.

She is a member of German societies ars scribendi and Schreibwerkstatt Klingspor Offenbach (board member). She is a CLAS fellow (Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society) and full member of LX (Letter Exchange) in London.
